Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare and St. Joseph Health System, also in Atlanta, have ended discussions for a partnership, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.
St. Joseph desired a deal in which the two groups would create a joint operating company while retaining their original names and identities, according to the report.
After announcing they would not move forward with a deal, the two groups said creating a joint operating company would have been very complex and turned out to be currently unfeasible.
