Health First in Florida Looking Purchase 120-Physician Group

Rockledge, Fla.-based health system and insurer Health First is looking to add to its physicians group by potentially acquiring multispecialty group Melbourne (Fla.) Internal Medicine Associates, according to a Florida Today report.

MIMA is a group of 120 physicians covering 26 specialties. Buying the group would double Health First’s physician numbers, according to the report.

The CEO of Health First released a You Tube video earlier this week in which he said “we are indeed having discussions — and serious discussions with MIMA.”
