Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago will adopt a new name today during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new $915 million facility, becoming Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
The name recognizes a $100 million gift from philanthropist Anne Lurie — the largest charitable gift ever received in the hospital's 125-year history.
The hospital will begin transferring roughly 200 patients from its former Lincoln Park location to its Streeterville facility on Saturday, when it will also begin admitting new patients.
