John Forester has been named president and CEO of WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, W.Va., effective immediately.
Mr. Forester had served as the hospital’s interim president and CEO since March, according to a July 30 health system news release. He will continue supporting physician enterprise operations across north central West Virginia and working with leaders across the system’s central region as a member of the WVU Medicine executive leadership team.
Mr. Forester has more than three decades of healthcare leadership experience. Before assuming the permanent role, he served as interim president and CEO of WVU Medicine Summersville (W.Va.) Regional Medical Center and WVU Medicine Braxton County Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, W.Va., during periods of organizational transition.
Before joining WVU Medicine, Mr. Forester held executive leadership positions with HealthSouth rehabilitation hospitals in Morgantown and Huntington, W.Va.
