Washington system taps chief medical officer

Wenatchee, Wash.-based Confluence Health named Katie Peterson, MD, chief medical officer.

In her new role, Dr. Peterson will lead the system’s ongoing work to support quality, safety and medical staff leadership and partner with operational and executive leaders to ensure excellent, coordinated patient care, according to a July 29 system news release. Dr. Peterson, an OB-GYN, previously served in leadership roles focused on value-based care and population health. 

She succeeds James Murray, MD, who transitioned to Confluence Health’s new chief physician executive role.
