Albany (N.Y.) Med Health System has named two executives to lead its digital and quality strategies.
Robert “Robbie” Freeman, DNP, RN, will become chief digital officer Oct. 5, while Jennifer Rabaglia, MD, will join the system as chief quality officer Nov. 2, according to a Sept. 15 news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Freeman joins Albany Med from New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System, where he served as chief digital transformation officer.
At Albany Med, he will oversee the health system’s enterprise technology organization, including digital, data and artificial intelligence, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital experience, and technology-enabled research and innovation.
Mr. Freeman has spent two decades working in healthcare digital, data and AI transformation. At Mount Sinai, he led digital experience initiatives and efforts to expand the system’s AI capabilities, including securing a $12 million New York State Healthcare Facility Transformation Award to support AI across more than 1,000 inpatient beds.
He also serves as an associate professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Human Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Scot Van Sickle, who has been serving as Albany Med’s interim chief digital technology officer, will assist with the transition and continue as the health system’s vice president of information technology.
Dr. Rabaglia most recently served as system chief quality officer for Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth, where she led an enterprise quality program across 15 hospitals, more than 600 ambulatory clinics, 5,000 physicians and advanced practice providers, and 33,000 employees.
At Albany Med, she will oversee quality, patient safety, patient experience, infection prevention and performance improvement across the health system.
Before joining UCHealth, Dr. Rabaglia held leadership roles at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin and Dallas-based Parkland Health and Hospital System.
