Massachusetts system names chief physician officer

New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health appointed Dennis LaRock, MD, an adult and pediatric urologist, chief physician officer and executive vice president of the network.

Dr. LaRock will step into his new role March 1. He succeeds Rayford Kruger, MD, who retired in January after holding the position since 2021, according to a Jan. 17 system news release.

Most recently, Dr. LaRock served as physician-in-chief of surgical services at Southcoast Health. He started working at Southcoast Health in 1998, and his private practice joined Southcoast Physician Group in 2012.
