Valerie Powell-Stafford was named senior vice president and area manager of Kaiser Permanente’s Greater Southern Alameda service area in California.
Ms. Powell-Stafford will oversee hospital operations and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan for the area, which has more than 6,700 employees, serves more than 366,000 members and includes two hospitals and four medical offices in San Leandro, Fremont, Hayward, Union City, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley and Newark, according to an Aug. 31 news release. She succeeds Debra Flores, RN, who retired in April.
Ms. Powell-Stafford has more than 25 years of leadership experience in healthcare and most recently served as Hartford market president for Trinity Health in Connecticut, the release said. She previously held executive roles at HCA Healthcare in Florida and Connecticut.
Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente serves 12.9 million members across nine states and Washington, D.C.
