Iowa hospital taps former UnityPoint exec as president, CEO

Des Moines, Iowa-based Broadlawns Medical Center tapped Proctor Lureman as president and CEO, effective July 15, after a unanimous decision from the hospital's board of trustees.

Mr. Lureman was selected for the role after a nationwide search and top recommendation from the CEO search committee, a panel of physicians, community representatives, front-line workers and a subset of the hospital's board of trustees, according to a Broadlawns Medical Center May 21 news release.

Prior to his new role, Mr. Lureman served as vice president of operations at UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, where he led 1,300 medical professionals and more than 200 advanced practice providers and physicians, according to the release.

"Proctor has been a valued team member of UnityPoint Health for more than 25 years and has held a number of positions over the years. He has demonstrated leadership in engaging with our physician partners and managing operations across multiple departments and services," Tom Mulrooney, COO at UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, said in a statement shared with Becker's.
