Paul Smith was named CEO of Parkridge Valley Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mr. Smith joins the behavioral health hospital from Covenant Healthcare Peninsula Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., where he was vice president of behavioral services, according to a Sept. 14 news release. In that role he directed behavioral health services across a multihospital system, including a 100-bed psychiatric hospital and outpatient clinics.
He brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, with a focus on behavioral healthcare operations, strategy and program development, the release said. He has led services across hospitals, outpatient clinics, psychiatric residential treatment facilities and integrated health systems, and has overseen facility openings and program expansions in multiple states.
“Paul brings deep behavioral healthcare experience and a strong record of building programs and developing teams,” Chris Cosby, president and CEO of Parkridge Health System, said in the release.
Parkridge Valley Hospital is part of Chattanooga-based Parkridge Health System, which is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
