Hackensack Meridian hospital names chief medical officer

North Bergen, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center has named Calvin Hwang, MD, chief medical officer, effective Sept. 8.

Dr. Hwang most recently served as associate chief medical officer and associate chief quality officer at New York-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital, according to a Sept. 2 news release. He also served as associate chief quality officer for NYP/Hospital at Home.

In his previous roles, Dr. Hwang led initiatives focused on reducing surgical infections, improving emergency department flow and enhancing hospital safety metrics and patient satisfaction.
