Patrick Gavin has been appointed CEO of Springfield, Pa.-based Crozer-Keystone Health System, just days after Prospect Medical Holdings, a for-profit hospital operator based in Los Angeles, completed its acquisition of the system.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Gavin.
1. He is currently Crozer-Keystone's COO and executive vice president.
2. In his new role, he will replace Joan Richards, the system's longtime president and CEO, who is retiring July 31.
3. Mr. Gavin joined Crozer-Keystone as president of Upland, Pa.-based Crozer-Chester Medical Center in 2010. He was named COO and executive vice president of Crozer-Keystone in 2012. Since that time, he has continued his role as president of Crozer-Chester Medical Center and has also served as the lead executive for the Crozer-Keystone Health Network, Crozer-Keystone's provider network.
4. Mr. Gavin earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Villanova (Pa.) University, an MBA in information systems from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia and a master's degree in public health from Columbia University in New York City.
