The hospitals on the U.S. News & World Report pediatric Honor Roll rarely change. Neither, it turns out, do the people running their IT departments — eight of the 11 CIOs here have held their current title since at least 2023.
Here are the IT chiefs at the publication’s top 11 children’s hospitals, released Sept. 15:
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago: Susan Goodson has been senior vice president and chief digital information officer since January 2025, having joined the hospital in 2024.
Boston Children’s Hospital: Heather Nelson has been senior vice president and CIO since 2021.
Children’s Hospital Colorado (Aurora): Amy Feaster has been senior vice president and chief digital and information officer since 2023, having joined the hospital in 2018.
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles: Conrad Band has been senior vice president and CIO since 2021, having been with the organization since 2017.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia: Wes Barnes has been interim senior vice president and chief digital and information officer since June 2026, having previously served as CHOP’s chief technology officer.
Children’s National Hospital (Washington, D.C.): Matt MacVey has been executive vice president and CIO since 2022, having been with the hospital since 2017.
Cincinnati Children’s: Tony Johnston has been senior vice president of information services and CIO since 2023, having joined the organization in 1989.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio): Denise Zabawski has been CIO since 2013, having been with the hospital since 1999.
Seattle Children’s Hospital: Natalie Pageler, MD, was named senior vice president and CIO in August 2026, having joined from Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, where she served as division chief of clinical informatics and, from 2015 to 2025, chief medical information officer at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.
Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston): Myra Davis has been executive vice president and chief information and innovation officer since 2019, having been with the organization since 2003.
UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh: Srinivasan Suresh, MD, has been vice president, CIO and chief medical information officer since July 2015, having joined the hospital in September 2014.
