The American Medical Association rolled out an online platform to connect physicians with healthcare technology companies seeking clinician input, the organization announced Oct. 24.
The Physician Innovation Network provides an online forum for physicians to collaborate with health tech companies on a paid or volunteer basis. Entrepreneurs and company representatives can also seek physicians with specific expertise to offer feedback on their products and services.
The AMA's goal with the platform is to provide opportunities for physicians to share their ideas and real-world perspective with companies working to develop digital health tools. The platform will also offer physicians and entrepreneurs opportunities to learn from one another through virtual panel discussions.
"The Physician Innovation Network will help ensure that physicians play a greater role in leading digital health innovations that expand the bounds of science, enhance patient care and shape a better healthcare system, and improve the health of the nation," said AMA President David O. Barbe, MD.
