Here are five hospitals, health systems and other healthcare organizations that have appointed new chief data officers in the first half of 2019, beginning with the most recent:
1. UC Health selected Michael Legg to serve as the Cincinnati-based system's vice president and first chief data and analytics officer, effective July 8.
2. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System named David K. Vawdrey, PhD, chief data informatics officer.
3. Andrew Kasarskis, PhD, became New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System's first chief data officer.
4. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota's parent company, Stella, appointed Shahid Alam senior vice president and chief analytics and information officer.
5. Anmol Madan, PhD, left the CEO position at Ginger.io to join Mountain View, Calif.-based Livongo Health as chief data scientist.
