Two acute-care hospitals and health systems have received credit downgrades in the past 30 days, according to a report by HFA Partners.
The hospital and health systems receiving the credit downgrades include:
• Adena Health System (Chillicothe, Ohio) — from A to A- (S&P)
• Halifax Regional Hospital (South Boston, Va.) — from A- to BBB+ (S&P)
The two June downgrades is the lowest amount in several months. In May, there were seven hospital credit downgrades, and in April, there were six.
In the same month-long span, six hospitals and health systems received credit upgrades. They include:
• Blanchard Valley Health System (Findlay, Ohio) — from A3 to A2 (Moody's)
• The Medical Center at Bowling Green (Ky.) — from A- to A (S&P)
• Hawaii Pacific Health (Honolulu) — from BBB+ to A- (S&P)
• Rush University Medical Center (Chicago) — from A- to A (Fitch)
• Scottsdale (Ariz.) Healthcare — from A- to A (Fitch)
• St. Clair Memorial Hospital (Pittsburgh) — from A to A+ (S&P)
Six hospitals and health systems also had positive rating affirmation changes, while four hospitals and health systems had negative rating affirmation changes.
