“Investing in education is a great way to support Sioux Falls now and in the decades to come,” said Kevin Lampe, executive vice president for Sanford Health. In December, Sanford announced another 30-acre land donation to Sioux Falls Lutheran School.

Sanford has also offered to sell the school district an adjacent 10 acres of land for approximately $653,000 in addition to the 35-acre donation.

Sioux Falls School District Superintendent Brian Maher said there is potentially enough land to build a high school, but the land could also hold a combination elementary and middle school. Sanford has not requested naming rights for the future school building.

The donation will be returned to Sanford if the district chooses not to use the land to build a school.
