La Port (Ind.) Hospital began construction of its $125 million replacement facility Aug. 23, according to Inside Indiana Business.
Here are four things to know:
1. The new 200,000-square-foot building will replace its current facility, which opened in 1972.
2. Hospital administrators said remodeling the old facility would have cost the same as building a new one.
3. The full-service hospital will offer emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiovascular services, critical care, orthopedic services, and birthing and family care services, among others.
4. The grand opening is slated for spring 2020.
