Oregon hospital breaks ground on expansion project

La Grande, Ore.-based Grande Ronde Hospital has begun construction of its new facility, The Observer reported Sept. 14.

The hospital will serve 12 Eastern Oregon counties and an estimated 75,000 patients, according to the publication.

"To me this project represents our past, present and future," Jeremy Davis, president and CEO of Grande Ronde Hospital, said during the groundbreaking event. "From a very humble beginning in 1907 when four local physicians built the first hospital in Union County to the thousands of employees, volunteers, providers and patients who have left their mark on GRH over the past century; and to today and this significant investment in healthcare services that will be the future of healthcare in Union County."
