Wake Forest Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.). The department of neurology and neurosurgery at Wake Forest Baptist Health includes one of 33 Joint Commission-designated Comprehensive Stroke Centers and one of 34 ALS centers in the country. The health system's Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is also among the top rated in the country, having met the Level 4 guidelines of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Wake Forest is also home to a spine center, where physicians perform more than 1,000 procedures each year, and reports outcomes data through the National Neurosurgery Quality and Outcomes Database. The hospital ranked No. 37 on U.S. News & World Report's top 50 hospitals in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery in 2017-18.
