Uninsured, Uninformed: Obamacare Exchanges Remain a Mystery to Those Who Will Benefit Most

Recent poll results released by the Kaiser Family Foundation indicate that only 1 in 10 uninsured people have heard more than “some” about the insurance exchange markets that will be implemented as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2014.

The KFF poll also revealed that 1 in 3 uninsured knew “only a little,” and 1 in 2 haven’t heard anything about the exchanges.

The groups who seem have heard the most about this integral part to the PPACA are households that make $90,000 dollars or more annually and people who are already insured.

In addition to these statistics on healthcare reform knowledge, the poll also released findings on the public’s view toward insurance, attitudes of young people toward healthcare and the public’s perception of who stands to benefit from healthcare reform.
