Palo Alto, Calif.-based blood testing startup Theranos has been named in a second lawsuit in a week.
The potential class action lawsuit was filed last week in the U.S. District Court of Northern California by Hagens Berman, a Seattle-based national class action law firm. The law firm is seeking a no-cost replacement for Theranos' tests, which the company voided earlier this month.
"It turns out these tests were inaccurate and the government has found they placed patients in 'immediate jeopardy,'" Steve Berman, an attorney on the case said in a statement. Patients paid out of pocket for the inaccurate tests and may have made medical decisions based on false results, he added.
The company also faces another potential class action lawsuit, filed last week by Redlands, Calif.-based law firm McCuneWright.
