Quorum finalizes deal to sell Illinois hospital, marking second divestiture this week

Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health has signed a definitive agreement to sell Vista Medical Center West, a 70-bed facility in Waukegan, Ill., to New York City-based US HealthVest.

The transaction, which is expected to close in early 2018, is the second divestiture Quorum has finalized this week. On Monday, the company signed a definitive agreement to sell 72-bed L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Ala., to the Health Care Authority of the City of Greenville – L.V. Stabler Hospital, a public corporation.

Quorum, the 34-hospital spinoff of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, is focused on restructuring its portfolio to improve financial performance.
