Herbert Buchanan has been named CEO of Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., effective Oct. 1, according to a report by AFRO-American Newspapers.
Mr. Buchanan is leaving his post as COO of the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore to take the new position, according to the report. Prior to that position, Mr. Buchanan served as the vice president of operations of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He earned a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
