Brenda Qualls, CFO of Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., is resigning, according to a WMAZ report.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Qualls and her departure.
1. After eight years, her last day at the hospital will be Sept. 18.
2. Ms. Qualls is resigning for personal reasons.
3. In speaking about her resignation, Interim CEO Randy Hoover described Ms. Qualls as "an effective leader and a very dedicated and loyal employee," according to the report. He added, "Brenda agreed to step up at a difficult time and served as acting CEO prior to my arrival. She brought a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be greatly missed."
4. The hospital's goal is to have an interim CFO as soon as it can identify the right individual, Mr. Hoover said, according to the report.
5. Ms. Qualls' resignation comes just months after the CEO Jean Aycock resigned amid the hospital's financial problems. Mr. Hoover was named interim CEO. ORMC has entered into a five-year agreement with Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health in assisting in managing the hospital.
