President Dr. Michael Wiemann: Continuous Learner Leads Providence Hospital

Michael Wiemann, MD, serves as the executive vice president of the Providence West Region of Warren, Mich.-based St. John Providence Health System and the president of Providence Hospital in Southfield, Mich. As president he leads more than 3,400 staff members; 1,500 physicians; and approximately 300 volunteers.

President of St. John Providence Health System Dr. WiemannPrior to joining St. John Providence Health System, Dr. Wiemann served as senior vice president and CMO of Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health. He was a member of the St. Vincent medical staff for 19 years. Prior to that, Dr. Wiemann served as director of the bone marrow transplant program at Roger Williams General Hospital in Providence, R.I., and as a medical oncologist and professor at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence.
